Another Failure for Debt Ceiling Plan

Thursday night another attempt to pass something, anything, before the Tuesday deadline set by President Barack Obama rather fell through. August 2nd is this Tuesday, that is a hard deadline, so we are rapidly running out of time. The rest of the country and the entire world is rather waiting patiently for the moment that the bill will be passed by Congress. The bill is to raise the debt ceiling and hopefully reduce some government spending but sadly we seem to be no closer to passing it now then we were several days or several weeks ago.

This plan is a last ditch effort by John Boehner does not seem to be getting the needed support to make the change that is needed. The economy is spiraling downward and if the debt ceiling is not raised and government spending is not cut(a good reason why we're partly in this mess), the value of the dollar will be utterly annihilated.

There have been many on Capitol Hill who have called the bill to be dead on arrival. The Democrats are not budging at their beliefs but the Republicans are not budging either. This leads to nothing but a huge mess. We are rapidly closing in on doomsday, with the government not really coming any closer. Votes are being scrambled for, but even there are some on the Republican side that do not seem to be willing to commit to the bill as it is in its present form.

In the end and many agree, this is all about politics and maneuvering yourself into a better position. The future of the economy and the American people, which will trickle down to other countries is being played with. Sins of the past are finally catching up, it may have took some time but it is about ready to occur. August 2nd is pretty much a day that all will be waiting for.

Will any sort of measure be passed by then? Will we lead to no measure being passed on August 2nd? Will the so called hard deadline be pushed back? With how completely torrid this entire situation has been in the months passing, we can expect a chilling reality that the government is going to fail with their goals. Yet they won't be the one's who suffer. If the debt is not dealt with, if government spending is not cut into, then we will spiral into a recession, flirting closely to a depression.

Regardless of where your party affiliation may lie, that's a scary situation.
